Among Us from InnerSloth was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for September 2020 with 83.8 million installs, which was 40 times more than the title had in September 2019. The countries with the most installs of the game during this period were the United States at 23.2 percent of its total downloads and India at 11.5 percent. Scribble Rider from Voodoo was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with 22.7 million installs. The countries with the largest number of Scribble Rider installs were India at 15 percent, followed by Brazil at 12.4 percent. Garena Free Fire from Garena, Color Roll 3D from Good Job Games, and Emoji Puzzle from Supersonic rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.
The surge in downloads for Among Us continued in September, propelling the game to the top of the global chart, having placed at No. 9 in August. Installs for the title were up more than 356 percent month-on-month in September, and the game continues to be a huge worldwide hit, generating 128.6 million lifetime downloads on mobile by the end of the month.
Also making its was up the App Store download chart in September was the blockbuster RPG Genshin Impact from miHoYo. The title’s official launch was on September 28, but that was still enough for it to accumulate close to 6 million downloads for the month and rank at No. 9 for App Store installs. In its first seven days, Genshin Impact generated $60 million from player spending globally.
